The SRA Designation
SENIOR RESIDENTIAL APPRAISER
Awarded by the Appraisal Institute, the coveted SRA designation requires
the successful completion of a series of examinations covering real estate
principles, residential valuation techniques and standards of professional
practice. Additionally, the SRA must hold at least an undergraduate degree

requirements.
The SRA has undergone a rigorous review of his or her experience, and
has written and received credit for a comprehensive demonstration appraisal
demonstrating in depth knowledge of residential appraisal theory and technique.
Maintaining the SRA designation requires a substantial commitment to
continuing education and adherence to the strictest code of ethics.
